WELCOME TO THE COUNTIES MANUKAU HEALTH LIBRARY
We provide access to resources and services to support and promote excellent evidence based clinical care and evidence informed decision making across all services and departments at Counties Manukau Health.
All staff and our primary care partners have 24/7 onsite and remote access to an excellent collection of databases, journals, books and curated knowledge resources.
We provide the following services:
Literature reviews for clinical care, projects and research;
Training in literature searching to support evidence based clinical care and evidence informed decision making (individual, small and large groups)
Document supply for access to articles and books nationally and globally

Location and hours
The library is located on the ground floor of the Ko Awatea building adjacent to the new tiered lecture theatre
There is access to the library from 7AM - 7PM via staff swipe card (computer suite only)
Borrowing from the library collection:
Monday to Friday: 10am to 4pm
The library is not staffed in the weekends and on public holidays
24/7 access is available by swipe card
Computers , photocopying and printing
The Library has 8 computers , a printer, photocopier and wifi.
Access from home
Access our collection from home via this Discovery portal or via our library website on HealthPoint (also available via the Counties Manukau Health website homepage).
Your username and password will be your staff ID and first name.
Example:

Password = PETER
Health Professionals working in the Counties Manukau region are also able to register for online access to a selection of databases and resources and are invited to register for access via the online form and send to library@middlemore.co.nz with the words 'elibrary registration' in the subject line
Borrowing
Books - lending copies may be borrowed for 3 weeks and may be renewed online
Interlibrary Loans
Available for articles/books not held by this library - allow 1-4 working days for this service for articles and 1-10 working days for books.
You can fill out a form in the library or use the online request forms - see 'Library Services' on your Discovery portal.
* Please note that the document requests relating to student assignments must be sent to the institution with which you are studying
ie University of Auckland ,MIT , AUT , Massey University
The Library has a database of CMDHB photographs featuring staff and patients.
These photographs have consents and can be used by staff for other CMDHB publications, pamphlets,
in house teaching sessions etc.
Photographs need to be viewed in the library.
Historical Collection
The Library has a historical collection of books, photographs, hospital equipment and hospital memorabilia which is currently in storage.
